Trading Contests — Compete & Win Prizes on Cronos

Compete with fellow traders for a share of the prize pool in WolfSwap's trading contests and seasonal leaderboards. Every swap you make can earn you points — and the top traders walk away with real token prizes.

WolfSwap runs two types of competitions: token-specific trading contests sponsored by partner projects, and seasonal leaderboards that reward the most active traders across all tokens.

How Trading Contests Work

A trading contest is a time-limited, token-specific competition where traders earn points for swapping a selected token on WolfSwap. Contests run for a set period and feature their own leaderboard, rules, and prize pool.

The Flow

  1. Browse active contests — Visit the Leaderboard page and filter by Active, Upcoming, or Ended
  2. Click Participate — This takes you to the swap page with the contest token pre-loaded
  3. Trade to earn points — Every swap of the contest token earns you leaderboard points
  4. Climb the leaderboard — Your rank updates in real-time based on total points earned
  5. Win prizes — When the contest ends, top traders receive prizes based on their final position

No sign-up or registration required — just connect your wallet and start trading.

Points & Multipliers

Points are calculated based on the USD value of each swap. Most contests use multipliers to weight buys vs sells differently:

  • Buy multiplier — Typically 2x points for buying the contest token (varies by contest)
  • Sell multiplier — Typically 1x points for selling (some contests award no points for sells)

Always check the specific contest page for the exact multipliers and rules. Each contest can have different scoring criteria.

Example

If a contest has a 2x buy multiplier and you buy $500 worth of the contest token, you earn 1,000 points. If you sell $500 of the token with a 1x sell multiplier, you earn 500 points.

Prize Distribution

Contests offer two types of prize structures:

Fixed Prizes

The sponsoring project provides a set prize pool distributed across top positions. For example:

  • 1st place: $500 in tokens
  • 2nd place: $300 in tokens
  • 3rd place: $200 in tokens
  • And so on for additional positions

Dynamic Prizes

Some contests distribute prizes based on actual trading volume. A percentage of trading fees is split among top traders:

  • 1st place: 50% of the prize pool
  • 2nd place: 30%
  • 3rd place: 20%

The contest page always shows the current prizes and how many positions are rewarded.

Seasonal Leaderboards

Beyond individual contests, WolfSwap runs seasons — recurring competitions that track all your swaps on a given chain, not just a single token.

How Seasons Work

  • Every swap counts — All trades you make during an active season earn points toward the season leaderboard
  • Top 100 win prizes — The top 100 traders at the end of each season receive token rewards
  • Fresh start each season — Points reset when a new season begins
  • Multi-chain — Seasons run on Cronos and other supported chains

The season page shows your current rank, your distance to prize-winning positions (top 100), and a live feed of recent swaps across all participants.

What You See on the Contest Page

Each contest page gives you full visibility into the competition:

  • Live leaderboard — Top traders ranked by points, updated in real-time
  • Your position — Your rank highlighted with distance to the next prize tier
  • Recent swaps feed — See all contest trades as they happen
  • My swaps — Your personal trade history within the contest
  • Prize breakdown — Clear display of what each position wins
  • Countdown timer — Time remaining in the contest
  • Participate button — One-click jump to the swap page with the token pre-loaded

Hosting a Contest (For Projects)

WolfSwap accepts applications from project teams interested in hosting a trading contest for their token. Here's what you need to know:

  • Prizes provided by you — All prize tokens must be transferred to WolfSwap before the contest starts
  • Flexible prize tokens — You can offer your own token or other tokens from the same chain as prizes
  • Custom rules — Set buy/sell multipliers, duration, and number of prize positions
  • Partner branding — Your project name and banner are displayed on the contest page
  • No endorsement — Listing in a contest does not constitute a recommendation by WolfSwap

To apply, submit a trading contest ticket through the token development category on the WolfSwap Discord.

Supported Chains

Trading contests run across multiple blockchains supported by WolfSwap:

  • Cronos — The primary chain for contests
  • Abstract, zkCronos, Polygon, Base, Blast, Linea, Ethereum — Contests available as partner projects launch on these chains

Check the Leaderboard page to see which chains currently have active contests.

Tips for Contest Success

  • Buy early — Getting in early means more time to accumulate points
  • Watch the multipliers — If buys earn 2x and sells earn nothing, focus on accumulating
  • Monitor the leaderboard — Know who you're competing against and how close the next position is
  • Trade strategically — Multiple smaller swaps can be more effective than one large trade, depending on the scoring
  • Check for new contests — New contests launch regularly, so visit the leaderboard page often
